  • Marimba Band:
St Dominic’s has a proud tradition of marimba playing and is well respected for the level of musicianship our girls display.  Our various marimba bands rehearse on a Tuesday afternoon, with composing and arranging pieces as part of the activity.  These pieces are then put together in a programme which gets performed at school functions, as well as at outside venues.  Novices are welcome, but a passion for music-making is a MUST!
  • Steel Band:
This group rehearses on a Tuesday afternoon.  The players acquire a wide range of skills, from note reading to listening and improvising.  Their repertoire is very varied, ranging from Baroque pieces (1600’s) to the twentieth century.
