MATRIC FAREWELL

The Matric Farewell takes place in May every year.  The Grade 11 learners, who are the hosts of this glamorous evening, work tirelessly under the supervision of a teachers committee to raise funds and plan for an unforgettable event.

MUSIC PICNIC

Every year around September we have our annual music picnic.  Every girl from grade 000 to matric is prepared to perform at the picnic.  It is a truly festive occasion with 5 band-stands set up to enable non-stop music for 3 hours entertainment.  From choirs to steel bands, from dancers to pipers, from pop star wanna-bees to marimba bands, you can find this and more at the picnic.  It is a place where “old girls” meet and parents relax in the beautiful surrounds of our school.

POLAR BEAR PLUNGE

Once a year, as close as possible to the winter solstice (21st June), the St Dominic’s girls brave the ice cold water of our swimming pool to raise funds for “Gee-Bee” and “Wong”, two Polar Bears from the Johannesburg Zoo, adopted by St Dominic’s in 1996.

SPORTS DINNER

The annual Sport Dinner is held in October very year.  It is a fun event at which the various sport coaches award prizes and certificates to their team members who excelled.  The Sports Captains for the next year are announced at this event.
